Entrelac pillow

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical

Materials

Various leftover yarns and a cheap 18" pillow from Target

What was your inspiration?

I've been aching to learn entrelac for a while now, and the leftover yarn end bag was starting to bulge. Youtube also had excellent detailed instructions how to do this.

What are you most proud of?

The outcome is way better than anticipated, sadly my camera wants to add too much blue to all images, so the pretty purples and oranges are little murky

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just like everybody says - learning to knit backwards is extremely helpful when knitting entrelac, but don't be intimidated, it is really very easy.

It's just an entrelac knitted rectangle, looks to me it was a 5 or 6 stitch repeat with perhaps 30 or 36 s cast on. Start here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDEqjyYFO0A

go to planet purls how-to-channel, and find 'entrelac'. I just used leftover yarns I've had piling up, and part of the fun was to blend the colors to my liking.
