Hi suzy, im working on a jacket (Bolero) that stops at the waist, it has princess line but im confused at the im armhole, because in that class you closed the armhole dart and dumped it to the side dart, so my question is, for a jacket should the armhole dart be closed or left open for a fullness so that the arm will move around well. Thanks Mercy.

I am working on altering a coat pattern to knock off a Fendi coat. There were lots of tips and ideas in this class that helped me develop my pattern. I am excited by all the possibilities..

ah!!! I just finishing look at all the lessons today, and I just realizing that I'm doing nearly the same dress as the green and yellow, so funny!!! I actually took a vogue pattern and modified it a bit, I can't wait to finish it, but I'm a beginning sewer, so, I go slow to make sure I do it right. I promise I will post a picture when I finished it

Hi there Suzy and all other members. I am a complete novice and I'm just fed up with shops that seem to think, just because I'm a larger lady now due to serious mobility issues, that I must dress like a tent! So, I purchased an overlocker, a sewing machine, a dressmakers dummy and a couple of patterns. That's as far as I have got. I'm so nervous as I simply don't know where to start. Please can you help me by pointing me to the right starter course for me please? I pick things up very quickly and can make pillows and curtains etc. However, I know nothing about dressmaking. I really need to learn and am so passionate about it, but am amazed at the amount of courses out there, so much so, I don't know where to start. Can you please point me in the right direction? Have a wonderful day everyone. Thank you Suzy in advance or anybody that can tell me where to go. Sharon x

The classes are marked "essential", "skill building" or mastery...this gives you a clue as to what you are getting...if you feel you need help with your machine, types of stitches, finishes, fabrics, etc, you take "essentials". If you feel comfortable around fabric and your machine take skill building. You sort of need to know what you want to make first, and this helps narrow things down. If you believe that patterns won't fit you properly, as is often the case, definitely take one of the fit classes...I love Suzy's classes and have almost all of them!
