Emma started to make a scrapy log cabin block yesterday. She said," Grandma, I want to make a quilt!". Looks like we have a goal,

My 7 year old granddaughter picked the color swatches and arranged them in a circle. I sewed the blade points & sewed them into a circle. She centered the circle, pinned it on the block, then sewed the blades on with a straight stitch. She made the small center circle, following Amy on the video. Even gave it starch and a "final press." Then she repeated, "And there you have it!" and laughed. ;-)

Great to have a 'new' quilter at such a young age. Maybe by the time she's in her 20's (if not earlier) she'll be a quilt professional
