This was a really fun project. The hardest part was deciding who from my handmade ornament swap group of friends go which ornament! Simply buy toile, embroidery floss, hoops (I used 4" because of the size of the images of the toile I found). I would have preferred smaller hoops for ornaments but these are still OK on the tree. I really enjoyed doodle stitching, coloring in freehand, "painting" with stitches, embellishing with little beads (red for Rudolph's nose, silver for "bells", red and green for fruitcake glacee fruits, etc)

What a lovely way to share your talent. I love to have special hand-made ornaments on my Christmas tree or anywhere in my home.

I love Richard Saja's work also and these are amazing. I might have to do something like this next Christmas.
