Materials

Linen for cushion outer iwth mother-of-pearl buttons. Madeira and Isacord embroidery cotton. Duck down inners (purchased)

What was your inspiration?

I needed the cushions for chairs in home library, and selected the hearts so I could use red to match the red colours in the Persian rug.

What are you most proud of?

The three hearts, although from different sources and different styles worked well together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I used mother-of-pearl buttons for the envelope-style closure at the back so I did not have to bother with a zip closure. I made this closure a design feature. Make the cushion outer slightly smaller than the inner - the cushion plumps outs better.

I don't normally like hearts, but the linen and the styles you combined - very sophisticated and timeless! Masterful job.
