What was your inspiration?
Creating another Kids for Cancer Quilt for a young girl with Cancer. Left over Barbie Pillow Panel fabric from niece's project used to create panel pockets down the front of quilt and used some panel pieces to create pockets down the side. All filled with items that would keep someone occupied during their treatment.
What are you most proud of?
The way Irene emblished the quilt, even including jewelly like earrings, necklace, etc. She also added lace, buttons and sparkles. It's nice to see someone working on something when their not feeling the best. The look on her face when I brought the finished quilt in was unbelievable.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Using Pillow Panels to create a quilt is quite simple if you are new to quilting.
The sky is the limit but don't forget about the "old button box" as you might find some real treasures in it. Don't forget about old costume jewellery as it adds a three dimension effect to the quilt.
