14k gold, diamonds

What was your inspiration?

My good friend Ellie needed a ring to cover an arthritic knuckle. She couldn't stand the sight of her bent finger, so she thought a ring that was somewhat flexible and wide, would do it the trick. It took some time to come up with just the right size and width, but I think we found the perfect stylish combination!

What are you most proud of?

I think I love the simplicity of this look. I simply hammered round wire, bent the wire strategically to fit comfortably around the finger, soldered it for some stability in several places & added the recycled, bezel set diamonds. Voila!

love this look. Using parts of unused jewelry can add details that you just can't buy. Excellent design and the satisfaction of pleasing a friend are priceless. Dont't

I've had arthritis since childhood and understand well your friends predicament. Now you have given me an idea that might just work for me as well. As for now making money at it yet, you are making close friendships and they pay us the best. We just can't put it in the bank.

Absolutely beautiful! I only do a bit of wire wrapping & beading myself - so I am in awe of anyone with the equipment and patience to solder anything. I've never heard of using recycled diamonds - where can I get more information on that? Thanks for sharing!

I have a fair amount of patience - depending on the day! The "recycled" diamonds were from another ring that my friend had and never wore. I simply took them out of one ring and put them in another. Sorry for the confusion on that. You would be surprised how much you can do with a minimal amount of equipment!

Awesome! Very pretty, especially when being made for a unique application! I'd love to try my hand at something like that, as I have the same problem and am into jewelry making as well!

It's kind of nice to have both a pretty and functional piece! Good luck with the jewelry making! I've done it for almost 25 years. I'm still not making any money at it! So it goes....
