Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Wee Ones: Seamless Knit Toys »

Instructions

I made my elephant trunk 2X as long and left the bind off showing, thinking it looked a little more like a real elephant trunk, but of course a pink elephant is not exactly biological correct, nor is the rest of the body!

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Toy

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

cascade? not sure, sorry

What was your inspiration?

I made a little elephant from free directions at the Fiesta yarn site for a gift elephant designed by a little girl after the horrific tornadoes of last Spring, CeeCee, who designed it particularly for after the one in Joplin, MO . I loved doing that one and wanted to try more toys so I signed up for this course. I think my knitting group is going to do them to give to other local charities. I think this is OK, But am not entirely sure.

What are you most proud of?

Well, that I got it done at all. There are many techniques in this class that are new to me. I have not done them perfectly but I have certainly learned a lot so far, it is really great! My next one will be better! I love the yarn and the color. My Kitchener stitch is far from perfect, my elephant has had a few run ins with others, and tree branches so her ears are a bit ragged, but such is life on the wild side.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Get the wonderful cubic needles, mine are knitter's pride cubics. They look similar to the ones Susan is using in the course. I am just loving this course---give it a try!
