What materials did you use? I used black Isacord thread to do the outlining and quilting, fusible fleece for the batting, and a blue and white cotton print for the background. I also couched some eyelash/ knobby yarn around the edge after I satin stitched the edge. The top is coated in textile medium to protect it.

What are you most proud of? That a piece of art was created between two generations... and love of art has been passed down.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I couched the yarn a bit on the tight side and made it curl just a bit. I also hand stitched a key ring on the back for easy hanging.

I bet your student loved this! I know I do!

You rock!! For many years our elem. didn't have an art teacher and I was a volunteer "art mom"...Even though my left brain (accountant by trade) tried to provide fun right brain activities...we never had this much fun!!
