Wow! So adorable! You did a super job of recreating this pattern. Many, many years ago I had a yellow playsuit that looked exactly like this and my baby sister had a white one with red trim. Both are captured in a photo.

thanks. the lamp shade was the very first thing i did with my machine! didn't even know what a backstitch was at the time. i just cut my strips of fabric the sizes needed, stitched up the sides & use my hot glue gun to attach to lamp shade.

ohmy golly, I had a swim suit like that, while that looks for a little girl. I cant still see it, and because all the other girls had bought swimmers, and I was the only one with a handmade one I hated it. Therefore my girls always had store bought ones. This is in no way belittling your work, it looks well made

none taken. i think homemade is the only way to go. i don't like wearing what everyone else is wearing. not original.

probably you are aware if you follow me, I do applique and piecing and trying to quilt, I think Ive lost my mojo on it, so will have to do heaps of practice to get it right. I love handmade. But as a child those swimmers were my bugbear, and a pair of rompers instead of shorts. but then again, i had some fabulous one off dresses. When a teenager, and I had a ball or dance to go to I spent my weekends making my dresses for the next weekend, Even made my own wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. after 34 years I still have my dress, and veil.
