Materials
This project requires an old jewelry box with an insert in the lid. Additional materials include glue, decorative papers (maps, book pages, scrapbooking papers, &c.), craft paint, paint brush, a drill, a drawer pull, and picture-hanging hardware.
What was your inspiration?
I visit a lot of different Goodwill stores, and after seeing the same sort of sad, dated jewelry box four or five times, I felt like I had to come up with a project that would give it new life.
What are you most proud of?
This project is one of the easiest I've ever developed. It can easily be done in under an hour, from start to finish. So satisfying!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a quick and easy one. The only potentially tricky part is using the drill (if that's something you're not used to doing), but you have to drill exactly one hole, so take a deep breath, practice on some scrap wood, and go for it!
