These are really mitts, not gloves as in the pattern title. I think of anything for hands as mitts, but technically, fingerless gloves should have individual fingers, not just a thumb. I guess I should re-title the pattern someday.Difficulty:

Type of item: Accessory

Materials
If you want to make fingerless mitts, but aren't sure about four needles, this free pattern fits the bill! Any worsted weight yarn may be used; the photographed pair uses Paton's Classic Wool. One ball of solid and one ball of variegated will make at least two pair.
What was your inspiration?
I designed this pattern for a beginning knitting class. Most available patterns were worked on four needles with more complex stitches. Everyone had great success with this pattern.
What are you most proud of?
All the great mitts people in my class made with this pattern.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Experiment with the colors -- the mitts can be made in one color or two -- and make great gifts.
