Instructions

The pattern contains a step-by-step tutorial for designing the scarf to fit your own yarns and desired dimensions, as well as to make it as pictured.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Preppy, Classic, Outdoorsy, Casual, Traditional

Materials

The scarf as shown is made in Ironstone Harmony, a beautiful bulky wool. It can be made in just about any combination of two similar-weight yarns. Worked in Seed Stitch, the two colors form a subtle striping effect.

What was your inspiration?

The yarn itself. I've always loved Seed Stitch and the combination of the yarn, the stitch, and the colors came together beautifully to create an accessory for this wonderful leather jacket.

What are you most proud of?

That the recipient loved it (despite his usual dislike of scarves) and wears it too!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure to choose colors in the same yarn, or yarns of very similar weights. This will assure even width throughout.
