Materials

Worsted weight yarn, sport weight yarn, straight knitting needles, tapestry needle,stitch holder, stuffing, ribbon.

What was your inspiration?

In about 1980, I spotted this bunny in a magazine and made it for my children. For over 30 years I've made this toy to accompany blankets I knitted for new babies, for Easter gifts, etc. This latest bunny is one of two that I made last year for my twin granddaughters.

This is an EASY knit! The bunny is knitted flat with straight needles, then seamed together.

I suggest you knit this with a washable acrylic yarn and use a good quality stuffing so that the bunny can be machine washed and dried.

I know you will have a great time making this bunny and if its intended recipient is like my children and their children, it will be much loved.

I did not design this bunny and made only minor changes to the original design. I no longer have the magazine and I'm sorry, but I do not recall the name and publishing date. I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT for the design and I'm sharing it free to all my friends at Craftsy. If you recognize this design and have information about its publisher, please let me know. Babies and children, including my children and their children have been loving their bunnies for over 30 years.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is such a quick and easy knit, go ahead and try it. If you're a new knitter and have never tried to knit a stuffed toy before, this is a perfect project for you. You experienced knitters will enjoy making it too!
