Instructions

It is a mystery quilt on Bonnie Hunter's blogspot.

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

cotton fabric, batting, thread

What was your inspiration?

I had never done a mystery quilt before.

What are you most proud of?

I was happy that I managed my way through piecing the super large quilt top together. That was difficult. I haven't done anything that large in a long time.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use as many different scrap fabrics as you can. Ask other quilter friends to share some scrap fabrics with you.

Yours is lovely. I'm quilting mine now, just my usual meander, but anxious to get it finished and on the bed.

I have one small lap size in my frame--after that I will be meandering my way down "Easy Street" too. Mine will hit the living room floor, as i made it for the grand babies to use. Very few of my quilts are NOT used.

Looks great! I'm still piecing the blocks for this one. I like the way you used the dark small squares realy enhances the design.

Incredible quilt. I don't know that I would ever have the patience to do so many little pieces - good job!

it goes quickly...and in sections, so it was never boring, or overwhelming

This quilt is to much fun! Did you enjoy doing a mystery quilt? I think I would have control issues not knowing how it was going to turn out.

I did enjoy making it. I never tried to figure the layout-ever. But, what I did find myself doing was playing with the pieces out of curiosity, not with intent to figure out how they would be placed for the mystery. I love Bonnie Hunter's blog. She is amazing with scrap quilt ideas. And so many are free!!! Yes...free. I like free. lol

Thanks. It will be a monster to quilt though. It covered my entire area rug. I had to move the furniture to get it all on the floor flat. LOL
