What was your inspiration?
My sister gave me the rainbow colored yarn. I tried several swatches with patterns, none looked good with the ever changing yarn. So I decided on a very simple pattern, but play with the shape of the hat.
Next step: Knit a few more with different yarns, and write up the pattern.
What are you most proud of?
I love ear flap hats and pixie hats on kids, but wanted something for an adult. So this is almost a pixie, but not quite, playful, but not over done.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
All you need to know is the English cast on method, and get some pretty yarn, even a thick and thin yarn will do nicely.
