I actually like the snow/white difference, it's subtle and looks antique, it really looks like intentional detail

I would like to know if you are quilting with a long arm or domestic machine. The quilting is beautiful

Hi Bejoki, I used a domestic machine to quilt this, with a harp of 7.5" from arm to needle.

Well, my finished pieces should look as good as your practice piece. I actually like the two colors of white....kind of interesing. How about a narrow border of turquoise or red and voila - a table topper or pillow. I like your work so much. It's always impressive

What a beautiful block! I love the variety of backgrounds and texture you added...wonderful attention to detail...congratulations! tell me...did you ESS? :)

Sep 11, 2012   Flag as inappropriate
Hi Cindy, no, I did not ESS but I did most. I didn't want definition between the two pieces that make up the outter and innter points of the star, those are the only seams I didn't stitch. What would you have done?

Thanks Jan! I did have some struggles and discovered it's probably better to quilt the middle first as the fabric gets very stiff with all that thread and tends to push back agains the sewing machine arm.
