What materials did you use? Deborah Norville Serenity Print chunky wt yarn from Premier Yarns, color DN600-04 "Walden Pond."

What are you most proud of? That he's wearing it every day to school and didn't think it too dorky or ugly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Pick a self-striping yarn that's soft to the touch (for those sensitive ears!). My son complained about some of the earlier versions I made because they were too "scratchy." The Deborah Norville yarn was a perfect combination of warmth, color and softness.

I love this hat. Just what I need to keep the wind away while getting in firewood! Can't wait to get started!
