Craftsy.com was having technical difficulties so the name of the project did not save. This drawing is for lesson 2 and I've named it Dune Fence 2.

I was able to name the drawing now.

Hello NancyLynn54, Thank you for persevering and getting your drawing and title posting. [Please pardon the delay in response, was trying to see if I could make the drawings larger. Need to talk with Craftsy.] Anyway, most important, congratulations. This drawing is an improvement over your last, which was very good, it has space throughout not just at the point of interest . The composition is also good, it not only contributes to the space and entices the viewer. One thing that would help is to have a bit more balance in the overall tonal structure: The background and perhaps the middlegound could have a midtone. In short, the background distance fades too quickly and does not anchor the final space. A midtone in the distance would have given the foreground and middleground their proper conclusion.

PS- Could you tell us if you you worked from nature or if not, what was the source. Thank you. Look forward to hearing from you and see your next project.

Thank you for your critique! I agree with your conclusion. I was having a problem with tonal placement. I thought the background should have only light tones and I was having a problem creating a midtone in the middle ground. I will incorporate your suggestions in my next drawing. Thank you! I am learning a lot in your class!

Just saw your "PS". I was working from a photo I took on Cape Cod. I uploaded the reference photo with lesson 1 drawing.
