Thanks for the warning that it may be too small. I have tried to buy the templates, but they were so expensive i decided to use the ones provided, but I have had trouble with them being small. Will see. Beautiful block.
I don't think it was the template that made them small as the squares were all about 31/2 inches and I too used the template on the course materials. I stuck it onto some corrugated cardboard. . I think it is this scant 1/4 inch Amy uses I do not seem to be able to sew it. Maybe it's really 1/8 inch seam? Good luck with yours and glad you liked it
Your block is very unique & I really like it. Very well done. Yes I know what you mean about the scant 1/4" seam. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, just didn't want too much black!
The black makes it look really different from all the others I've seen - it's really eyecatching. I haven't done this block yet (only started January in October) but I found one of my earlier (Feb) ones came out too small. I think I may turn my finished quilt into a quillow and use the discarded square as the cushion cover.
Thanks for your comments. I have had a few blocks turn out slightly small so I am going to add some sort of border before the sashing to make them all equal. I am going to wait to see what Amy does and take it from there x
It's very original, but i don't understand how it's make ?
The video instructions are in the craftsy class with Amy Gibson Block of the month 2012. it is a great free class. You start with squares and cut out a curve in the corner then sew back together to remake a square. Then you arrange them so the pieces make it wonkey. Amy expains it very wel. Hope this helps xl.
Thank you for your help :-)
