What materials did you use? Stretch Navy Cotton Drill, metal zip, thread, pattern was just a straight skirt I own and I added a couple of inches to the side seams on an angle to the hem. I had seen a skirt in a magazine that had hip angled welt pockets, so this is the starting point for the skirt, I then added in a jean fly and top stitched all the seams and darts. I finished the waist and hem with bias binding.

Welt pockets look great, bias trim waist is such a good idea.

That was meant to be puku which means stomach in Maori.
