Materials
Palm Sander, Coarse & Fine Sandpaper for smoothing out rough spots and removing varnish from top and front of drawers. Mac Tac for masking material. Spray paint for Rose color. Gold acrylic paint and pencil crayons for top design. Dark varnish and clear varathane for finish. New pulls and knobs.
What was your inspiration?
Got a good deal on this piece at a used store but discovered it had an ugly watermark on the top right side of it.
What are you most proud of?
After smoothing out and painting a design on the dresser top the imperfection is no longer noticeable. We also really like the wood grain on the front drawers that was concealed by the dark varnish.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Coloring on wood with pencil crayons works really well as did using the mac tac as a mask before spray painting.
