Instructions
I took a much too big skirt, removed one panel from the side (about 6 inches at the waist), and used this piece to trim the top of the bodice and to make the straps. Then two rectangles of brown fabric, front 20" x 9", put darts as required for bust. Back 30" x 6", shirred with 10 or 11 rows of shirring. Fit bodice onto skirt and voila!Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
This dress was originally a skirt and as soon as I saw it at a charity shop, I just knew that it would make a really cute dress!
What are you most proud of?
Being able to make something old into something new and I now have a new dress which cost me about $12 in total!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Keep your mind open, the options are endless in the ways you can change, alter and improve old clothing! And a great way to practice on things that don't cost much at all!
