Knitting: Dress Form

Dress Form

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit Lab: Fit Your Knits »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

Duct Tape, Old Tee Shirt, Cardboard and lots of plastic bags.

What was your inspiration?

To get my knitting and sewing projects fit me well and see how they drape. I could see the back of my project.

What are you most proud of?

My friend Bonnie came over and did it for me. Without her, I would not have this great tool. Also Craftsy offering a class on who to do this.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I let everything hang out so it was my actual figure. No sucking in the tummy.

This is really helpful! I really like it ! What a great idea... I made my own dress form for sewing and never considered it for fitting knits... I want to take this class. If you are looking for how to make your dress form you may check out Threads Magazine website. I posted some resources here if you are interested https://lulusatelier.wordpress.com/2012/11/14/create-a-dress-form/

Just saw your video and I like your dress form even better. I am finding I use mine all the time and glad I have one.
