There are instructions for several different ways on YouTube and various blogs, also a Craftsy knitting class - see comments below. The general idea is you wear a tight T-shirt that you're willing to sacrifice and have another person carefully tape over it following your shape. Cut

it up the back to get it off, then tape it back up and stuff with newspaper etc. to hold the shape.

I typed in duct tape mannequin on YouTube and several tutorials came up, I also searched on the internet with that phrase and there were several blogs with instructions. Craftsy also has a knitting class in which making a form is part of the class. I can't remember which class it is, but if you ask Craftsy Help I'm sure they could send you to the right one

I've done this :) .... Our local knit group made a night of it. My favorite was one of the other girls forms , she used Hot Pink tape it was darling. I should have used a more fitted T shirt on mine. I had found the idea for it from a design college . I guess that design schools years ago use to make paper mashe molds of models.

It really is a clever way to get a dress form on the cheap! I bet you laughed yourselves silly in the knit group - that's a really good idea for a meeting program.
