What materials did you use? Cotton fabrics

Twenty blades that make up the Dresden plate was used to make the two flowers. first set are sewn completely onto the back ground fabric. neatened at the ends. then the second set top stitched around the tips of the blades. then anchored by top stitching to the bottom set. then three blades shortened to make the calyx. then free motion quilted a thin 1 12 in binding. not yet finished. but the rest is

WOW! Did you FMQ that on your regular sewing machine? I am pretty new to quilting, but I am highly impressed :D It looks gorgeous!

Great free motion quilting and design work. The flowers seem to sway in the breeze--created by the echo quilting. Love, love your improv work. Can't wait to see more . . .

Very mod Caraline! Love Dresden plates of any kind, but you've pushed the boat out with these flowers! Love the layered effect and look at your FMQ... you go girl! Well done!

Why thank you Mam......saying it in a posh Dunedin voice. hehe. I cannot believe that I went to sewing room with the intent of making a dresden plate and doodling some fancy stitches over the seams, looks nothing like I intended to to.....Im pleased with it, and something different for sure. Should be going to christmas part with St Peters group (if you are interested next year you would be welcome to come and share) But I have so much sewing to do and need quiet to do it.
