What materials did you use? Cotton quilting fabrics I had in my stash,

What are you most proud of? That I got the center points matched pretty well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you have enough contrast in your fabrics. I thought I did when I auditioned them, but sewn together, I was surprised. I expected the purple to show up more against the black print.

Purples are my favourite shades but I'd never thought to add them to a darker background as purples are a dark shade. Quite an interesting combination . The white/cream makes the just right contrast. Nice block. M.BP

Thanks! I have discovered that I kind of like the "mini pinwheel" that shows up in the center with the purple and cream contrast. On closer inspection you see that the purple extends to the background. Happy accident, I guess! LOL

That is quite lovely how the fabrics work together - and you're right about the pinwheel in the center really being the focus of attention because of the stronger value contrast. Nice!
