Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bag-Making Basics: Drawstring Bag & Bucket Bag »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Other

Style: Cute, Classic, Traditional, Casual

Materials

Leftover fabric from previous projects.

What was your inspiration?

Made these cute little pouches to hold toys and crayons for my children on our upcoming flight to Japan.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take the class, even if you have made this type of bag before. I learned quite a few cool new tricks!

Great bags, they are going to be so useful for all sorts. Good luck with your trip to Japan, what an opportunity. Japanese patchwork and quilting magazines are real eye candy, even if you do not know any Japanese there are plenty of diagrams to follow - just remember the measurements are in centimetres.

Thanks! I am so excited to visit the fabric shops in Japan. We will be there for 3 years, so I will posting plenty of "Made in Japan" projects!

I will look out for "Made in Japan" projects - all that lovely fabric and the home of Clover products. Sometimes you can buy pieces of fabric that have been recycled from old kimonos, perfect for purses and bags.
