Sis Boom Superfly in Blue for outer, an Oliver + S Cape Ann fat quarter for the lining, plus a piece of vinyl (cut from a duvet bag) for a transparent pocket to display the lunch order. Chain-stitched name on middle panel - fun, personal touch, she was fascinated by this step!
What was your inspiration?
Pleasing my daughter with my rejuvenated sewing skills, we began sewing together this year, after a 20 year break for me :)
What are you most proud of?
My daughter's amazing eye for fabric combinations!
She is fantastic, a designer in the making.
Teaching your child to sew is a great way to pass on such a useful skill, we enjoyed the whole process of selecting the pattern, the fabric and creating together.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It's an easy, very satisfying project, an instant reward for investing your sewing skills....meanwhile, the tricky Vogue princess seam top I am in the middle of finishing is still waiting....
Ps apologies for the sideways iPhone photo, no matter how many times I took it & rotated it, it still appears sideways ?!?
