Instructions

Colors are very changeable to create different moods. Needle size and string type can have a huge effect on its size. Most importantly, its square gauge is 3 stitches by 5 rows. I can adjust the pattern to your square gauge, but you need to tell me what yours is, and then allow some several days for me to make it.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Functional

For: Other

Style: Cute

Materials

Acrylic yarn, 3.75mm knitting needles, various computer programs (for the pattern)

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a knitted picture that used a lot of red (surprise, turns out shadows don't use a lot of bright color!), so I made a little drawing of a dragon. I wanted it to be dramatic, but also proportional--so I made a 3-D model of it, and then colored it flat, and then stretched it and patterned it.

What are you most proud of?

Finishing it...hehe yes, actually, but also finding the self-discipline to finish it in about 2 months, from pattern to border.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be able to keep track of many strings, be able to span many stitches of one color with a different color, and if you work it the same size as I did, it would probably be best if you have a place where you don't have to move it at all,

I love it! You did a fabulous job. My little brother just walked by and asked if I could make one for him. Lol.

Nope, I spent nearly 2 months with three 29" DPNs on the half of the bed I wasn't sleeping on :)
