What was your inspiration?

I am a HUGE fan of Downton Abbey, so, when I spied this fabric, I just had to make a baby blanket for the mommy who also is a DA follower!

Season 3 starts tonight!

Wonderful, muted colors of Lady Mary Red, Edith Green With Envy, Matthew Sky Blue, Mrs. Patmore Mustard Yellow and Daisy Pink.

This beautiful blanket is perfect for the stroller! Baby stays warm, protected and the blanket won't get caught in the wheels! It measures approx. 32" X 30" ( 81cm x 76cm). Great size for the crib or toddler bed as well!

It is hand crocheted, lovingly, by me in a soft grey! Wonderful, muted colors of deep reds, forest greens, sky blues, mustardy yellows and vintage pinks are a few! Very chunky, cuddly and cozy as I use a great amount of yarn!

The cotton fabric side is filled with ladies in their finery! Beautiful and easy to coordinate in any baby's room!

It is meticulously hand sewn to the thick yarn side with strong button thread.

Bits of yarn are hand tied to keep the two sides of the blanket together. This blanket is thick, chunky and warm! A wonderful year round gift for newborns to toddlers! A must for the colder weather and very useful for the chilly air conditioned spots as well!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Easily whip this up in a weekend!

Complete crochet and sewing instructions are included for the approx 31" x 30" blanket and I have added two edging options! The instructions do not include the name of any of the fabrics shown. You will need to choose and purchase your own fabric and coordinating yarn.

Color photos included! All my patterns give options for yarns available in your local Hobby Lobby, Michael's or Wal Mart! You can certainly use your yummy stash for any of my designs and I am always available for help!

Not just for babies! Toddlers love them too!

I made some as lap blankets for my mother in law and the ladies at her nursing home! Perfect size for them!
