My adult son recently met Ross Perot in the course of business and later bought one of Mr. Perot's books. In that book Mr. Perot wrote that his mother and his aunt spent many hours doing needlework which he and his sister now preserve, use, and treasure and have taught their children to do the same. He said that he learned dedication and attention to detail from their work but what is especially treasured is the inherent love that is in all of these hand-made items.

This pattern is by Pam Palmer. I'm not sure which book "Tatting Treats Two" or "Tatting Treats Three"?

I've done tatting before but this looks way more involved than anything I've done. Beautiful work.

Your incredibly talented. This is one skill that has always terrified me and looks quite impressive when I see people going at it. How to keep it tidy is beyond me. I just don't get how to maintain tension when doing any of these type of handiworks. Your colour choices are beautiful too!

This is the most beautiful tatting I have ever seen. My mama tatted, but never mixed colors, At least not that I remember. She tried to teach me so many times, but she could never go slow enough for me to learn. Actually, she tried to teach all of us girls, and failed with each of us. Finally, one sister taught herself and did lovely work - made exquisite crosses for book marks.

This is beautiful. I wish I could tat. My grandmother was great. She was in nursing home with Alzheimer's, but she could still tat. Went to visit her one day, she had no idea who I was. She was complaining that someone was in her drawer and made an awful mess. Asked me if I would throw the mess away. It was about half a bushel basket of her tatting. I brought it home with good intentions of doing something with it but never have. Every Christmas she would give us girls pillow cases with tatting on the edges. We just groaned and wished she would quit giving us such stupid gifts. Oh how I'd give anything to get one of those as a gift now. I'm thinking of putting her tatting that I rescued on pillow cases and give them to my girl cousins.

please can you put a photo on here when you have completed. Oh yea only if we kept the things given to us from our grandparents and parents. My mother could put her hand to anything and my sister can too.

Just lovely! I recently joined the Intatters group. They seem very friendly and eager to help those newly into the craft. I also prefer to needle tat, I find the shuttle quite awkward for some reason. Your work is truly lovely, Anita.

My Grandmother tatted and left all of us with wonderful linen hankies and great memories. I wished I had paid attention and learned from her when I was young. I really enjoyed seeing your projects!
