I've got to try this. What is twined knitting?

Twined knitting uses two strands from the same ball twisted around each other on every other stitch. It's warmer than regular stockinette. I learned about twined knitting in a Stitches class taught by Beth Brown-Reinsel. Her website is www.knittingtraditions.com. There's a good article on twined knitting on Knitty too: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/FEATwin05TT.html. Have fun!

Thank you for the great web sites. I see I have more learning/knitting to do. Love the look of your mittens.

It's not my own pattern, but I started with the double-knit cuffs from the class and then decreased in a knitted round to start the twined knitting mitts and turned them into mittens. The mitts pattern is from a class by Beth Brown Reinsel. You can find out more about the pattern here: http://www.knittingtraditions.com/Workshops/mittens/Swedish/Twined%20Fingerless%20Mittens.htm. Have fun, and good luck!
