What was your inspiration?

I came across this technique in a book I have; it was only briefly mentioned, with not much instruction. I found a book dedicated solely to Twice Knit Knitting, and after getting a few basics down, made this coaster for practice.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Even if you are a beginner knitter, don't be afraid to try new techniques. It's just yarn, and if you make a mistake or don't like it, all you have to do is rip it out and you can start over!
