Materials

Two haircombs with predrilled holes, elastic cording and beads with holes large enough for the elastic to go through.

What was your inspiration?

I am inspired by the beads I find.

What are you most proud of?

That my combs are well received and my business is growing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just use your imagination. There is no limit to the styles one could come up with. Before starting pull about 1/2" of the inner core elastic and cut it off so fibers are hanging at the end. Wax them with bees wax which can be purchased at the fabric shop. Twist and make needle like. Now it will be easy to put beads on the elastic cording. When finished, tie a good knot and coat it with glue to help it stay knotted. I have ideas at my website here or at etsy under Pollyannagrammy. I sell the kits for doing your own at both websites but need to relist some so if there aren't any, just email me.
