What was your inspiration?
I bought a pack of 30 fat eights of beautiful hand dyed fabrics that I think are so beautiful. I had seen a Dresden plate turned into a flower wit a stem and the whole bit and thought my hand dyed fabrics would be perfect. I wanted to add some dimension and so I decided to make it a double. I originally had a long stem and petals but after I looked at it for about two weeks I decided I hated the stem. So I did some frog sewing, some cutting and adjusting and changed it to this. I love it!
Now I just need to add a sleeve.
What are you most proud of?
This is the first Dresden Plate I ever made. Now I'm addicted! I like the depth it has.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be intimidated. This block is seriously easy, The hardest part is getting the blades ironed. I have since bought a small crafting iron that works really well for pressing the tips.
