With a shamrock pin!

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Donegal Cap for Babies to Adults »

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Funky, Retro / Vintage, Cute

Materials

Stash yarn, yay! Just an acrylic ww I had on hand, probably Red Heart. The vareigation in it gives a bit of a shabby look, which is what I was going for.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a hat to wear to a St. Patrick's Day party. Irish but not joke-like! I am going to pin a shamrock on the hat. I may also sew a button on top. I am finding that adding other elements (buttons, silk flowers, etc) to crochet makes the items look more professional.
This pattern has been featured on Craftsy for a while and is VERY easy!

What are you most proud of?

It just took me a few hours to make!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Keep measuring as you go; she gives nice measurement points. I think next time I will add another row to the brim, and also not tack the hat so far out on the brim; I'd like the brim to show just a bit more.
