What was your inspiration?
Someone was really raving about my other dolphin quilt and really wanted to learn how to quilt. This is a sample for a class I will teach some friends.
What are you most proud of?
That is is simple but uses a few techniques.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Start with a small project. Success on a small scale builds confidence. Also free motion quilting does not mean that you can't have markings to help guide you in your design. I used the walking foot to quilt the straight lines, but have since found that I really like to do them free motion because it goes faster, the walking foot can be very tedious. I've learned that no one will notice the mistakes, they are usually too much in awe of the work that is done.
