What materials did you use? 100% cotton fat quarters, Warm & Natural batting, and polyester fiberfill - for the pillow stuffing.

What are you most proud of? I think the matching pillow was a fun idea.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Basic quilting and sewing skills are all you need. Very simple project.

What size did you cut the squares?

I think they're about 3 inches square. That's a guess... I can't remember for sure - but they were small.

I do not machine sew. Could this be done by hand?? Jody

I think anything can be done by hand - but would be very tedious. If you want to make a dolly quilt by hand it would be better to pick a fabric that has the look of patchwork but is all one piece of fabric. Then you could sew the blanket (to pieces of fabric right sides together) - sew by hand around the outside edge, leaving an opening to turn it. Then turn it, iron it, and hand quilt as you wish. ~pris

I hope that made sense... I meant to say (two pieces of fabric - put them right sides together with some batting) then sew around the outside ege, leaving an opening to turn.

Thanks Tracy. I made this for my "pretend" grand girl. (I don't have any grands yet, so I "adopted" a darling family with 3 little girls at our church.) I like the colors in this tiny quilt. :) Kate loved it!
