I purchased a jute bag from the dollar store and gave it a "facelift" with acrylic paints.

What was your inspiration?

My inspiration? I began painting these bags at the beginning of summer. The sun streaming in the windows, and flowers growing outside, inspired me.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proud of the reaction I get from people who spy me with a unique market bag. Some want to know if they're for sale, and others want to make their own.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I put a sheet of scrap paper inside of the bag, before I draw my design with market, and while I'm painting. That way, it doesn't go through to the other side.
