Doll

What a Doll

What a Doll

Instructions

Trace the child for pattern. Make adjustments before cutting. Use some imagination.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cottons, yarn for hair, markers for face.

What was your inspiration?

I made one for my daughter when she was little so wanted to make one for my granddaughter. I lost the pattern over the years so I had to improvise.

What are you most proud of?

The reaction on my granddaughter's face when she opened the bag and saw the doll! She was afraid of it at first but now loves it!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Children wiggle when you are trying to trace them. You will need to make adjustmentsto make it larger or smaller.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, I don't get on that often. I embroidered her face. I used a pattern for her it was a very old book she has ears as well. I made her for my granddaughter and the bag as well. You can get iron on faces as well I have used them I wasn't very happy with them. If you have a look at my project site you can get a bigger picture. www.cathysews.com.au I think I can put this up if not I am sure somebody will take it down. Thank you for the compliment.

Oh, sweet! I wish I could see your doll in a larger screen so I can see her face better. Did you use a pattern because I could not find any? Thank you for the compliment.
