What was your inspiration?
The dogwood blossom has always been a favorite of mine, and I noticed how the center of a granny square was similar to a dogwood flower. I played around with the idea and I think it worked out beautifully.
What are you most proud of?
How delicate it looks, yet how not so difficult it was to make. It is not a beginner project, but it looks more difficult than it is to make.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is not a beginner pattern. I highly recommend you be familiar with round ripples and with granny squares first. I have several free patterns to choose from, including a free online tutorial (with videos) to teach you to crochet.
