From a couple of the photos, it looks like the leg openings are misplaced, and pull when the dog wears the sweater...might be a bit uncomfortable for your pup? Have you ever addressed this?

No. I made the project for friends. The first one was a bit tight on the pup, but that was just becasue it was my first crochet project in 20 years, and the stitches were probably a bit tigheter than the gauge, which I failed to check as I was making it. The pattern is not mine, and I have never gotten any remarks back from those who I have made these for.

I feel this was the absolute cutest pattern I could find out there on the web for dog sweaters. It is rather versatile too, as you can use one or more colors, and even variegated yarn, resulting in various looks.
