Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

For: Pets

Style: Whimsical, Cute, Funky

Materials

Red and black fleece, B/W houndstooth crepe, Sequin banding, Purchased Felt letter, Faux lizard for hat brim and top button cover

What was your inspiration?

Love to sew for pets and kids.

What are you most proud of?

The hat. It is cuter than I imagined it would be.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a fairly easy project. I modified the instructions for the hat in order to line it with the houndstooth crepe fabric. So there was handstitching involved. The vest is a pretty simple sewing project.

Love this! My pup has a small, narrow head/neck. (Italian greyhound) I wonder if I could adjust the hat that much?

i'm sure it would be fine. When in doubt, I always make a 'muslin' first. Then fit it on with the seams on the ouside. Then pin and adjust the seams , or take in extra fabric. Mark all changes in pencil or pen on the muslin. Take out first seams, and resew to new measurements. If all fits o.k., use the muslin as a pattern. Pretty easy to do.

Thanks. His name is Chito and he belongs to a friend of mine. He really doesn't have that blue eye. The flash did that. LOL
