What was your inspiration?

I came across this pattern for a Dog Tooth block and thought it woulb perfect for my daughter and son-in-law's dog.

What are you most proud of?

The way it turned out with the fussy cutting and the border.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure you have enough fabric for making mistakes... Measure twice and cut only once!!!!

This saying comes from the Amish from what I was told when we sold fabric in amish country.

Very interesting:) I am actually reading a book 'Sisters of the Quilt (the complete trilogy)' by Cindy Woodsmall it is very good and a wonderfl insight into the Amish community. I reccommend it to you all:)

My grandma said you had to make a "mistake" on every quilt because only God was perfect... so we had to find the (usually deliberate) mistake on every quilt...a bit like "Where's Waldo?" game. So, when someone spots my mistakes, I always say "I MEANT to do that!!" haha! I mean, why did they name it "patchwork" if they didn't mean us to be literal about it?!

Thank you Pam although I cut one wrong and ran out of the blue fabric so had to patch... but then I thought it is patchwork haha!
