I used quilting weight cotton fabric from spoonflower.com, I LOVED the selection of specialty fabrics.

What was your inspiration?

I was perusing spoonflower.com and found a so many adorable Doctor Who inspired fabrics. I have a good friend expecting her first child and knew she would love the prints.

What are you most proud of?

This is my first quilt. It is by far not perfect, but I put a lot of time and love into creating this. I know it is already loved and cannot wait to see her son enjoy it as well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Since this was my first quilt, I simplified it a bit. The pattern calls for windmill blocks, but I used basic 6 1/2 blocks instead. I also did not do traditional binding. I sewed around the edges like you would do with a pillow and then reinforced the edges with a decorative stitches. I had fun with this project and allowed myself to play with it a bit. The pattern comes in a booklet with a total of three patterns. All great if you are just starting or like a cleaner, more modern look.
