Wooooow this design is stunning. You are a true artist. I really like that you showed the progression of detail. Was that a mental picture or did you have an inspiration subject.

I had a stained glass pattern that showed the outline of the hills, dock, ships and grasses. I chose a fabric from my quilt shop for the sky and water. That fabric drove my color palette which is a triad yellow orange with purple and aqua green. I did use textile watercolor pencils and free motion stitching to emphasize the colors in the sky, which were already there in the fabric. I didn't put contour lines on the distant hills because they are so small and far away. I did use contour lines on the dock for which I received a lot of compliments about how realistic it looked and the perspective that the lines gave the quilt. Thank you for your compliment. These are all beautiful. You should enter them in a quilt contest.

Really awesome! I appreciate you posting a pic of your drawn pattern, as I've been trying to figure out how to do a similar lakeshore scene...great inspiration!

Stunning execution! This piece really stands out. The colors, contours, and contrast have definitely done their job. I can't wait to see what you'll do next! :)
