What was your inspiration?
I wanted to create a diaper bag that was exciting, and funky. I fell in love with the fabric with its retro-looking kitty, and ran with it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a great project for advanced beginners to intermediate sewers. Pick a fabric that doesn't have a set grain, so you can utilize the fabric without being stuck with a bunch of leftovers. I buy 1 and a 1/2 yds of fabric, and another 1 1/2 of lining, plus extra firm stabilizer for structure. I don't always make the little shoulder pad thingy, as that can be really challenging to get the bias tape on just right!
