Instructions

This pattern is from a book called: LEARN TO MACHINE QUILT by Sharon Chambers. It was published in 2005 so this book might be hard to find. It was published by Creative Arts & Crafts.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

Disney Princess fabric, yellow and pink paisley cotton fabric. The batting is polyester lowloft.

What was your inspiration?

I made one similar to this for my niece and had enough material leftover to make this one. I thought it was a cute design and I love how it can be functional as a pillow or a quilt.

What are you most proud of?

That I finished it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

For those of you like me, I don't particularly like tie quilting but on this project I wouldn't suggest machine or hand quilting it. It makes putting the pillow pocket on it far more difficult. I machine quilted this one and it was very difficult to make and didn't turn out as well as it would had if I had tie quilted it. I would also suggest using a high loft batting. It'll make it fluffier when you fold it into a pillow.
