|Material||Fondant, Buttercream, Other|
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I used the same method as was taught in the class, the only thing I changed was that I used RKT instead of fondant for the tail. I purchased a small fondue torch, but it did not work, so I was unable to torch my dino. Materials used were buttercream in between the layers, and fondant to cover the outside. I really wish that I wouldve spent a little more time smoothing out the head and neck part, as I feel that that part looks a little bit messy. Thankfully the birthday girl didnt seem to notice though; but I will keep it in mind for next time.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Dont be intimidated by how complicated it looks, it is much easier than you might think. Also, dont be intimated by the hardware store! It may take some time and patience, but you will eventually find what you are looking for, and if you dont then just ask!
